Our guides contain general information about travelling to the United Kingdom and aim to answer some common questions you may have related to visa application process. Full conditions for entry to the UK are contained in the immigration Rules.
If you are not a British citizen or a citizen of one of the European Economic Area (EEA) countries, you may need an entry clearance before you travel to the UK. People from certain countries, known as visa nationals, need a visa to enter the UK for any reason. Certain other categories of travellers to the UK may need entry clearance only for some reasons: for example to live as the wife, husband or civil partner of a British citizen.
To find out if you need a visa, please use the drop-down menus on the UK Border Agency website, and choose of Purpose of visit to the United Kingdom, your country of Nationality, and your current location (where you want to apply for your visa).
The current local visa fees are displayed in the Visa Section waiting area as well as outside notice board.
You are required to pay the appropriate visa fees only.
Use of visa agents
There are a number of visa agents in operation in Burma (Myanmar). Some applicants may choose to use them in order to support or prepare their entry clearance application.
If your agent includes any false documents with or without your knowledge you may have any future application refused for a period of 10 years.
Any decision to utilise the service of an agent is entirely at the applicant's discretion.
